Mark has a passion for singing and an enthusiasm for teaching. His expertise and experience gained from over 20 years as a professional opera singer enable him to deliver a process of learning to sing that is creative and specific to each student.

Mark has taught students of all ages and abilities. Many of his students have gone on to music conservatoires, whilst others enjoy singing to their optimum in various choirs and ensembles.

He has a thriving private practice in London and a proven track record of teaching in several institutions.

Mark is Co-Director of MDX Singers' Ensemble and teaches singing to BA music students at Middlesex University in north London ( Mark also teaches singing to BA acting students at RADA (

In 2014 Mark was appointed the vocal coach to North London Chorus directed by Murray Hipkin ( His role supports the vision of the Musical Director and the individual and collective vocal development of choir members in regular sessions during the term and on residential courses

Mark is frequently asked to act as a consultant animateur for a variety of arts organisations to facilitate creative projects in the wider community.

Mark has a successful vocal consultancy and runs workshops and sessions for choirs and ensembles. He supports choir leaders and conductors by helping singers with their vocal technique, posture, breathing, confidence and approach to performance (

Mark is proud to be Creative Director of Workshops for the award-winning charity, Streetwise Opera ( Regular workshops across five regions in England help people who have experienced homelessness to gain skills and confidence.
